I'm an idiot!

I took off the metal back plate when I installed a freezer 7 on my motherboard as it wasn't pictured, but apparently you're meant to leave it on.

Same goes with my Noctua, the backplate was already off and I didn't re-install it, feel like a complete noob.

I'll fix it when I get home.

Why would the warranty be void? Theres no notice saying not to remove the back plate? Anyway, I bought it through another website who don't know anything about it ;) The warranty is void from bent pins anyway.

I should have realised something was up when this happened :p

It might have something to do with the fact that CPU's aren't secured in there sockets anymore (with the levers locking them in) so when I took the HSF off the processor was stuck to the bottom of it. Unless you pull the HSF off straight they are very easy to bend.

What a spack....

Oh, stock retention plate is back on and NH-D14 is installed again :)
