I'm calling it now. MGS4 on 360. E3 Microsoft Press Conference.

I'm calling it now. Metal Gear Solid 4 in stores late 2009 or early 2010. Microsoft will drop the bomb shell this monday (june 1) at their press conference. They did it last year with Final Fantasy 13, this year its MGS4.

I am so sure I am willing to bet my username on it. If Microsoft don't announce MGS4 for the 360, I will change my username to the dumbest thing anyone can come up with. I am that sure on it.

I tried to deny it in the past, but at this point it just has to happen. Theres no avoiding it.

Mmmmm, what user name could i suggest..... OH!!!! i know..... Robert1986. the dumbest thing i can come up with.

joking ;)

360 owners for the most part don't know anything about the MGS series.

didn't stop them buying GTA 4 in millions.

Shouldnt be a problem to fit MSG4 on 3 or 4 DVD's if they remove those stupid ingame ads at the start.

perhaps they could do it monthly for 360, 1 disk each month until we get the full game. should have it all before nextbox arrives.

Studies have shown that Sony has the strongest brand loyalty when compared with Nintendo and Microsoft

makes you wonder why GTA 4 sold more on 360 then. what with the majority not knowing about GTA and with it being so tied to PS2.

I'm sure most people would have had a PS1/2 as the xbox didn't do too well.

not true.

if that is the case i really hope mgs5 will be fully made for the ps3 then dumbed down for the 360 and not made 50/50 for both consoles

LOL, i see what your trying to say... the PS3 is way more powerful and hopefully they will make that first and then cut back on the grafix and sound to fit it on 360..

Just replace it with an Orange light.

:D

It did only slightly though and with a larger user base

Speaking in a conference call following Take-Two's recent financials, one analyst asked, "...can you give us an idea as to this 13 million GTA 4 units, how many of those are Xbox 360 platform? So what's the addressable market for the downloadable The Lost and Damned."

The response from Lainie Goldstein, CFO of Take-Two, was, "It's approximately 50/50, Ed."

It should be borne in mind, of course, that while that split probably refers to Xbox 360/PS3, the game is out on three platforms. Where's the PC version? Were its sales so negligible that they weren't worth a mention? It seems unlikely, given that 24% of Take-Two's revenue for most recent quarter came from PC game sales and a large chunk of that must have been GTA IV for Games for Windows.

It should also be borne in mind that the 13 million sales were as of January 31st - two and a half weeks prior to the launch of the 360-exclusive Lost and Damned.

Speaking about the geographical breakdown - US sales versus international sales - Goldstein added, "It's about 50/50 there as well.

I still think there is a small chance of MGS4 on the 360, but the new MGS game i see as a multiplatform game.

haha, im willing to bet my username on it, WTF?! wow thats really erm...throwing down the gauntlet, can't you say something like 'if im wrong you can shoot me in the face with a SPAS-12' or something?

Whats that got to do with this? GTA 4 was a standalone game in terms of story. I don't know what point you're making?

See above, but also factor in the install base. And you can't compare the coverage a gta title has with a mgs title.

I like you. I'm going to buy you a present.

Theres no way they can get the next MGS game out in time for this gen. Microsoft will probably announce their next system at E3 2010. At that point, might as well make the game for that system.

the ps3 has atleast 5-7 years left in it before another ps2-ps3 leap could be made, technology wise and i dont think it would take that long to bring out another game

Doubt it will be that long but it certainly wont be in the next year or two.

Sony are sticking with their 10 year plan for the PS3 which means a new console will probably be released in it's 7th or 8th year.

Well they have the PS3 engine up and running fine so that is big part of the dev time gone. If its not a Solid Snake game and is based around new characters then it may be easier to get the voice work done. All but 2 scenes was done in engine so perhaps that will also reduce the time required. If they been working on this just after MGS4 then a 2010 date wont be too unrealistic.

MGS5 would more make sense being an exclusive. Microsoft won't stay in this current gen as long as Sony. They'll want to be first out the door again. Although, I am pretty sure they'll support the 360 years after the next console is out. They won't kill it like they did with the xbox. I just can't see MGS5 being released at the same time on both consoles, its just not going to happen.
