Aren't most of those available on firefox anyway? WITHOUT addons.

I might try Opera. My mate raves about it but ultimately said he had to stop using it as it had the highest number of issues in terms of page compatability.

I've never tried Google Chrome, the thing that puts me off it is how it seems to be rammed down your throat everywhere you go. I popped my driver disc for my new mobo recently and the first thing that came up was "install google chrome", it's advertised everywhere, and bundled with so many other pieces of software, I feel like it's being forced upon me ... perhaps I'm just bloody minded :p

I was having a few issues with Firefox freezing when loading pages so switched over to pale moon.
Been using it for about 6 months now and it seems to be working fine. The only issue is that Battlefield 3 won't launch games from a 64 bit browser.
No biggie though. I've set IE's homepage to the battle log and just open it to play BF3

What's all this firefox profile stuff? Interested as I'm having a strange problem that's not long started?

I had been reading this up a while ago. Apparently after a certain period of time between updates/reinstalls, extensions install/uninstalls Firefox starts to have problems with the profiles.

I've never had Youtube crash though. I did have color management problems with Firefox a while back. I sorted that.

Can't get over all these years reading more and more from people how Firefox in a way is nearly heading towards how the Mozilla browser ended up.

You know, with millions of people happily using it without issue, and the op having problems on 2 machines - suggest the problem is the ops more than the browser.

Still it is ironic timing. FF 12, 13 & 14 have the single goal of improving speed. It's mostly background stuff e.g. better memory garbage collection with the odd notable change like background updates and the reset button specifically to fix such problems.

FF 13 comes out on Monday if you don't like betas, with waterfox 13 a couple days later as usual. Waterfox is edging away from a simple x64 compile though - the next build will use chromes memory allocator giving it a nice performance booster over vanilla firefox at the cost of increased memory like chrome. It still has problems though e.g. adobe air links fail still fail to launch programs like iplayer desktop.

Pasted Links Not Working IN Facebook - You know when you post a youtube video or picture in your status or on someone's wall and it comes up with the preview image/player? Well that doesn't happen most of the time when I do it on FF, all I get is the URL.
.

Its Facebook. Its a wonder it works at all. That isnt an issues exclusive to FF either

Well that's probably because you were ramming it with addons that were rubbish and whatnot?

My profile is years old and the same profile has seen through many variants of FF and it's now on Waterfox.

On an SSD I see no difference in performance between it,Chrome, Opera and IE. FF allows me to work faster though as extensions are more powerful giving me access to things that do stuff quicker around the web.
