I'm Famous

“The way I see it is that customers speak with their money,” O’Neill says, “The activity in our watercooling section of our forums and the week on week development of watercooling is staggering, especially as it is such a niche group.”

Quite how much money speaks that loudly O’Neil didn’t mention, but he says it’s enough to make the new site worthwhile.

lol^^^

The activity in our watercooling section of our forums

there's not that much activity

I know right.

In fairness cleeecooo, the section is growing. and most people don't post on the OcUK forums and use other enthusiast forums instead.

but the increase of specme threads on here and in the customer services sections is noticeable.

Nice one O'Neil!! ;)

Have to admit that there is a more noteable increase in watercooling interest not only on this forum but the others I regularly frequent. As the pace of PC component's is slowing (i.e. no matter which way we look at it, PC components are not progressing in huge steps like they used to - Think CPU/GPU) people are turning to customising their setups more.

I disliked this quote though: "O’Neill, of course, has a new shop to promote" - What a loads of codswollop from the article author - I don't exactly see them saying that when Intel has released a new product which is only just slightly better - but rather make it sound like the best thing since sliced bread! - hypocrites!!

Opening up this Watercooling section is without doubt one of the best moves on OCuk ;) Great resource for people who are afraid of asking questions to the masters of watercooling on other forums incase they get shot down lol.

Well played :)

watercooling has become necessary to get monster heat creating gpu / sli / crossfire + big OC cpus setups under wraps in modern systems. My system components have got hotter over the years depsite what that article says even with improvements in case / cooler design etc

we get used to and expect to be able to overclock the hell out of our components and then complain about the heat!!

plus I think its the next step on in the hobby - once you have built a few pc's its then easy the challenge is gone - watercooling is the next thing to learn / study / read reviews and get excited about
and the results are superb!!

very interesting article, good for OCUK to get included

Yes, to use building PCs is nothing. I am myself going watercooling plus custom case ( IE a dermal taken out to it)

I do wish OCUK stocked more of products like that ( hint hint)

The next best thing is a attacking the challange of watercooling, and how to modify our cases to install it

Well done :)

The new accessibility of water cooling in the big shops like OcUK is what made me start thinking of actually doing it myself. It makes perfect sense to watercool something if you hate noise and graphics cards for one just seem to be getting louder over the last 4 years :S

Congrats Richard - well deserved, but not sure about the new shop bit - gives the wrong impression I think.

Merry xmas

Mark

Yeah it's a bit misleading! It's just a new section with selected/recommended components, there's always been watercooling on OCUK as far as I can remember!
