So I am heading down to That London, early 5:30 alarm call and then ****, shower, shave. Getting all my bits together, find wallet, check wallet, check tracking device, put in jacket pocket, head out to car. Get in car and think, where is wallet? Walk back in house and wallet on banister. How do we do this, is it an age thing?

Fetch wallet, get back in car, drive to station. Arrive at station (in R8 today as meeting a friend when I get back to home station and he wants a go) find nice wide parking space. Sit for a bit then head to platform. Where's my tickets, I know I bought some yesterday, but nothing showing on my app, or on my statement. WTF?

Oh well buy another ticket, get on train, sit down.....train pulls out......where's my wallet? Phone wife, ask her to drive by of station on way to work to collect wallet, then meet me back there at 6:05 this evening so I can collect wallet (and tracking device so I can drive my car) and head on my way.

I'm getting old :(

I've started losing screwdrivers and pencils that I put down beside me just seconds before.
Dad warned me about that. I'm only 31 :(

Your not old yet , you drive a Polo GTI :D Just repeat that in your head over and over again until you forget about anything else age related :)

It is true, I do own (well lease, but that's the same as far as the Mr Jone's are concerned) one of the Polo GTI supercars, VW's halo model, but I am old :(

I just get so deep in thought about other stuff, I think "I must do this, check that" and I think that translates into my head as "I just did that and just checked that" and I head out the door, be it house or car. Thank god for Apple Pay, but I have just realised all of my security passes are in my wallet so am now facing the shake town from security when I get to my London office.

I feel your pain, I can't drive to a meeting without having to turn back at least once to collect something I've forgotten, think my worst mistake was suit trousers and shoes (I wasn't driving half naked, I prefer to change when I arrive)

It's all downhill from here on in :p

When I do this I've usually filled a trolley with shopping, had it all scanned in and then realise my wallet is at home :( I only turned 39 yesterday too, so hardly old, or is that classed as old these days

I did this one time , not quite got to the check out , so i abandoned the trolley and legged it out of the store and drove home. However i couldnt be arsed to drive back to the same store and went to a more local store instead. :D

I can't decided whether at the moment it's me being forgetful or me being unorganised when it comes to things like this. I'm only 28 so I reckon its just being unorganised when I forget things I really shouldn't.

I think it's modern life. In my case I have so much stuff floating around up top, stuff like this, which are usually just actions of normality get mushed up. I remember picking the wallet up in the house, checking for my tracking fob and then, in my mind, 100% sure I had popped it in my jacket pocket. Thing is, I was probably thinking "I must put this into my pocket".

You chickens have a lot to look forward to.

At 56 I have reached another stage of senility by putting things down / forgetting items etc but then forgetting why I needed them in the first place, which can actually ease the pain..!
It can have more serious consequences though, like when I wonder if I have already had my blood pressure tablet that I had just taken, could explain why I'm feeling a little woozy...?!

But modern life is a factor, at least in my defence. There seem to be more devices / items as personal belongings to factor in a day to day life. As well as more tools / objects etc to keep track of.

I'm 50 in July so not far off you...

Good news is, my wife has now liberated said wallet from car and all is good. However, she walked up to her car and looked at my other car and noticed I had left 2 bottles of cleaning products resting on the windscreen wipers and a rag last evening from when I was giving my other car a clean. :( Good job I live middle of nowhere.

Ha, in a similar vein to the above, and as a continuation of my previous post...

I left an open bottle of metallic T-Cut on the top of my Polo once and drove off. There is still a silver bit on the driveway years later... Parents weren't happy! :p

My dad has a habit of leaving his wallet, or back in the day, his fileofax on the roof/rear spoiler of his car and driving off.
