Anyone else had this? Over the past day I've apparently registered at lots of different sites, I've not even heard of half of them. Is this some new kind of pointless spam or someone with a vendetta? :o.

Somebody you know is a ****. Some of those registrations probably tell you the IP that subscribed - file an abuse complaint with their ISP.

It should say the IP address that registered you - check if its the same IP or not.

edit: beaten!

You upset someone. Happened to me once, presumably from on here as i don't frequent any other forums. Generally I only sign up to unimportant websites and social networking (and here) using a spam account that i only check when i've registered something, so it made no difference to me!

Oh well, it makes me feel special anyway :).

I did look through the ones which came in last night and didn't see an IP in those, I've not looked at the ones from today yet.

If I do find an IP would any mods feel like checking it again the forums' database? I can't think of anywhere else it might have come from.

same sort of thing happened when i foolishly put my email address on a forum when asking people to contact me if they knew anything about what i was asking.

2 days later my mailbox was mental

Had about 5 more of these during today.. it's all very random.

I even got a "job opportunity". My name isn't Kevin, and from Googling it seems other people have had it too.

Someone's probably taken your email from your trust because you've said something to offend the little dear :p

Meh if it was a vendetta it would be porn sites and the like.

I once had some 13 year old punk from canada sign me up for a lot of M$ newsletters etc. (he was annoyed that I stopped working on Flight Simulator Add-ons for his group when I found out he was a 13 year old punk).

So maybe the person doing it is a 13 year old canadian punk?

Heh perhaps both of you are right.

As far as I'm aware I haven't annoyed anyone on here mind, infact most of my posts tend to be helping people :p.
