Been playing around with my PC lately because of WoW Forever and there’s also a few RTS games on the horizon which I got my eyes on.

I currently have the below spec
AMD Ryzen 7 1700
RAM 16.0 GB
SSD Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB,
466 GB SAMSUNG HD501LJ, 932 GB SSD WDS100T3XHC-00SJG0
Graphics Card AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (8 GB

Was looking at upgrading the CPU but my RAM wasn’t really suitable for the upgrade.

So fell out of bed this morning onto my keyboard and ordered the below. I can pinch the 2TB 4 gen Fury M.2 drive out of my PS5 for the below. GPU will get upgraded at some point.

AMD Ryzensets 5 9600X Processor

Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 Motherboard

V-Color Manta XSky RGB EXPO 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 C30 6000MHz Dual Channel Kit - BI

.bit pricey for the board, but eh

You should have saved on the board and spent the difference on the 7500X3D, WoW loves the extra L3 cache in those chips.

exactly what i would've done

why do people ask for advice/validation after the fact lol
at least you ordered from Amazon so you can cancel easily and order a better build

Clues in the title. Had to dive in incase I started getting cold feet or start feeling guilty .

How much better is the 7500x3D worth spending an extra 50quid?

Would like to keep the mobo as would like to build a dark RGB build.

If you can stretch and want it for the looks, spend the extra.

If it's either/or, choose the better performance, when you're playing games you're looking at the monitor not into your case window.

Personally, if my main game was WoW and I was buying new hardware for it, the 7500X3D is the bare minimum I'd consider.

Love the Total war game series so very much looking to play Total War 40K and the upcoming Dawn Of War.

I’m not on a super tight budget. So don’t mind swapping the CPU out.

Thinking about going for the 9070XT a few months down the line.

MMO's, strategy, X4, certain sims are the most common games that perk up over the extra L3, and that's regardless of resolution.

From what I gather with TW the main benefit is mainly in reducing turn length between battles, especially during late game with a lot enemies during a campaign.

I'd buy a case with the fans included, there's plenty of options, but e.g. Antec Flux Rear.

I wouldn't pay £200 for a motherboard to pair with a 7500X3D. Something like the Nitro+ is ~£120.

Got my flame suit on
£300 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on stuff that don't matter much.

this is obscene

for a combined total of 700 notes, you could've got yourself a 9850x3d build (and enough change for a hooker for the night - i think):

My basket at OcUK:
Total: GBP568.92 (includes delivery: GBP12.99)
