Hiya peeps,

just trying to work out which of these 2GB-Dual-Channel kits would be the most fun to use with a new e6300/e6400 system, either with an ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP or maybe an Gigabyte GA 965P-DS4

In order from cheapest to dearest (about £75.00 difference between the first and last set).

G.Skill PC2-6400 PK Series 4-4-4-12

A-Data PC2-6400 Vitesta CL4

GeIL PC2-6400 Ultra CL4

OCZ PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2

CorsairTwinX XMS2 Dominator PC6400

A-Data PC2-8000 Vitesta

I'm new to DDR2 and Core2 Duo but I am trying to get the right sticks so that when its comes to overclocking, the thing most likely to cr*p out first is the CPU

Corsair TwinX XMS2 Dominator PC6400 C4 would be the best bet.

That or the Geil. Tho the Corsair should clock higher than the Geil.

I've heard good things about the A-Data, but I know little about it tbh.

Got exactly the same question here. I'm looking at a 6600 CPU with either a 975X or if budget can make it, a NForce680 chipset.

Will be watercooled and going like stonk. I don't want to go for stupid memory but I want something that won't hold me back.

I was thinking of this:

Agree with the ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP choice, for the moment at any rate (what with DFI's widely speculated upon, albeit untested RD600-based board supposed to be under 1 month away now).

Crucial Tenth Anniversary PC2-5300 3-3-3-12 gets my vote.
Feature good bins of Micron D9GMH ICs and currently showing some very nice results over at XS forums.

That's got to be the best 'bang for buck' at the moment for around £180 delivered from an online store or ~£175 elsewhere, using a 4% off coupon and 7% back from a 'cashback co-operative'.

For a little more (around £215 delivered) CellShock DDR2 PC2-6400 4-4-4-12, assuming you get one of the new batches (1.09196.95.360 & 1.09256.97.360) utilising Micron D9GKX ICs.

yeah I am looking at the Crucial stuff now (blue heatspreaders) what can it be clocked to then?

Same question about the CellShock stuff? :confused:
