I'm never going to see Game of Thrones

You can rent the blurays from Lovefilm, minimum package is only around a fiver a month with no minimum contract so just cancel it once you've watched them. Well worth watching them in HD as the video and sound quality is top tier.

I'd just download them myself. That's how I started watching, As I had missed a fair bit of series 1.

You can get all the books so far for less than £20. They are miles better than the tv series.

If all you want is the story then yes, the books are the way to go. If you're after a supreme audio and visual experience that follows the story then the books don't cut it!

Unfortunately some people don't read, tv is their only option.

I know you didn't mean anything by it but that sentence tickled me, I don't think the OP is Forest Gump:p:D

Actually there was a bit of condescension hidden under the sentence. Not directed at anyone particular mind. The amount of people that 'don't have enough time to read' but sit on facebook and hour before bed staring at stupid vines. Or they watch an hour of corrie and EastEnders every night. Each to their own I suppose.

Sky have to pay for all that football somehow.
Genuine LOL. Even tho it's true :p

Read the books while waiting for repeats.
That's what I've decided to do. I haven't read a book for years. 'Bout time I picked one up.

Just download them ffs
I believe that people should be paid. I wouldn't work for free, and I don't expect anyone else to.

It's not about white-knighting or being a little angel as one poster put it. I'm slightly anti-authoritarian if anything.

But I don't want to feel like I'm robbing anyone. I'll probably rent the Blu Rays if there are no repeats on TV.

I'm still mad at Sky tho. They're pretty crap and after this I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

They will likely be shown on Atlantic again over Christmas or just after, they always repeat! They are showing last ep of season 2 and first ep of season 3 on Sunday night for instance.

I'll bet all the money under the sun they'll put them up again as soon as they start advertising for the fourth series. They always do. I can see it now. "Get ready for season 4 now by downloading the box set only on sky catch up"

It's amazing how people think, spend over £2000 to watch one show (after all the sub fee's, tv, electricity, etc).

Then refuse to pay £20 for the blu rays lol.

It's like someone spending £200,000 for a car then refusing to pay £2000 for some decent tyres on it.

You are not missing much. I have them from sky on demand and:

The picture lots kind of JPEG lossy to me.
The audio is 2 channel
The ad break spaces have an irritating bright Sky Atlantic-panning-shot-over-a-cafe segment.

Get the BluRays, the series deserves it, and Sky is just shoddy. I only have it as half price for a year. After that, if they don't give me half price again I am ditching :)

Until I get a PS4 in the Jan sales I don't have a Blu Ray player ;) And who buys DVDs anymore?

Maybe I can pick up the series cheap in the sales too.

You are just making it awkward really. I also wouldn't expect to pick up a ps4 in a Jan sale.. They will be full price.

You have to be practical in situations like this...

You pay for sky ..
Sky have previously aired it..
You pay for internet..

Just torrent it, watch it and then delete it once you've finished..
Nothing at all wrong with that course on my personal morale compass, but we are all different..
