And was wondering if it's OK to post here and ask any interested users in filling out my survey/questionnaire for a research project.

Here's the link. I thank you for your time and assistance :)

i use wireless for my phone only, everything else is hard wired. My wireless runs off a 2nd linksys router because virgin media hub is rubbish for it. Wireless is poor compared to wires , nuff said.

I filled in the survey. However, being pedantic, iPhone/Android/Windows Phone/BlackBerry is not a 'kind' of smartphone. :)

For a second I thought this was the interesting side of wireless networks. When you look into how the transmission works along with the packets of data that hold it all together. Deauth and Beacon packets being most interesting here.

Did a university project titled "privacy" and ened up with some fun results.
Little linux based pc that fakes it self for what ever router a phone is looking for in the area. Phones/laptops constantly search for their "home network" if not connected to anything.

Filled in your survey tho, hope it helps.

That must have been a very high scoring project. Looks serious.
Thanks for the help!

You'd think that wouldn't you. But turns out our grades are based on the journey (sketchbook research work) rather than technical skill. So eneded up with the same grade as someone who put a arduino thermometer in a plantpot to log temperatures over time.

And no problem.

Thank you to everyone who participated, you are all very awesome! Even the ones that joked around about what they use their devices... Although maybe they were serious about it, I don't know yet. :D

The survey seems to be testing whether people want an app or website which tells them about mobile phone coverage. If so you could make it much shorter than that.
