Saturday I started to feel a bit ropey.
Sunday-today symptoms have included:
An intense, skull crushing headache. Medicine seems to have no effect. Once or twice over the past few days I've felt better for a few hours but it comes back.
The front of my neck around my wind pipe feels tender. My throat is dry and swallowing is agony. I just had dinner and I was hungry but swallowing was just horrific.
I've looked in mirror and it looks a bit red (that may be a normal redness - not sure tbh)
Body aches
Night time is the worst. 8 hours in bed feels like 100. A few times I've woken up to sweat covered sheets, overheating. Then an hour or two later I'm freezing to the point my whole body is shaking.
I'm taking a mixture of ibuprofen, paracetamol and lemsips.
I'm guessing this is just flu? I looked it up and there's something called Strep which is like flu but with swollen glands. I've not sought medical advice as I don't think I warrant it.
Oh and I've also got a cold sore on my lip! Great.
Stupid question really but does this sound just a simple case of flu and swollen glands? Am I right to just self medicate and sit it out?
Tomorrow will be my 3rd day off sick.
