think it's the excitement!

i'm racing tomorrow! first time since July last year and first time back on the 600 since i won the championship on it in 2006!

i've already got butterflies in my stomach and i'm soooooo bored waiting for the morning to come!

haha, am excited about this friday, its my first driving lesson, and i cant wait scared but excited.

good luck at the track, and have fun. :)

Good luck mate!

I've just been in the garage all day, last thing I want to see is another rear brake caliper for another day or so. Can't seem to get the air fully out after bleeding the damn brakes :(

All for tomorrow, I'm going to the pub! :D

thanks guys, i shall be racing in the Formula 600 class on my ageing CBR 600 Sport for EMRA at Mallory Park.

...done by Beansprout from here funnily enough. ;) has all the info and the pics on it....

off to bed now so that's it! :D

quick reply as ill put it up on my website proper tonight... :)

practice - timed now so grids are based on it. i lobbed it at the hairpin after missing a gear and then it found a gear after i'd already opened the throttle. bike then just flew off on its side. not a good start. best lap 59.8

race 1 - started 12/27 - finished 9th. best lap 59.1

race 2 - started 12/27 - finished 9th. best lap 58.1

i told myself at the start of the day that if i could get both top 10 and go quicker everytime i went out i'd be happy. :) i was hoping to get on the pace a bit more but in race 2 i was in 7th about 1s behind 3rd for most of it then just sat up into the hairpin and that allowed the guy behind to catch and pass on the straight as my CBR isn't the quickest in a straight line bless her. overall race time in race 2 was about 5 or 6 seconds quicker too even though i lost time on the last 2 laps.

so not too bad... got scrapes down both sides of the bike already and scuffed my new leathers.

bugger. :p

some guy got pics of my crash too but i forgot to ask him to email me!:(

i keep telling myself i did ok, but when my average lap time on a 600 at mallory is 55/56 i was a bit miffed at only doing 58s. :(

still... more time on the bike would help. only rode it properly for 20 mins since building her up!

Wow, it must have sucked at the start of race 1. Glad you got a better start on race 2 and improved on your fastest lap.
Dan got a thoroughly rubbish start on what, to be fair, was his first start on the new ignition setup we had installed on the CBR. This led to a different feeling with the throttle and was the reason Dan was unable to get the jump of the line. After entering Gerrards bend in about 20th place Dan was able to make up quite a few places to eventually finish 9th. Fastest lap was 59.1 which was an improvement and going in the right direction.

you can thank Beansprout for the website design - i merely add the content. :)

jaykay - it did indeed suck. every bike has a different way of starting and i was using the 'old' way on my CBR i.e. 8000rpm and slip the clutch - didn't work. so 2nd race i used 10000 rpm and dumped the clutch more and got away reasonably. could still do it better so thinking maybe dump it a bit more and maybe 11000 rpm next time. :)
