My NTL landline is completely FUBAR - any number I dial comes up as "sorry, this number has not been recognised". I go into NTL's website, click on the "email us" link, and I get forwarded to a page with a dialogue box:

- "Do you already have NTL services in your home?" - yes

- "What is this email regarding?" - customer support

- "What type of support do you require?" - technical fault

- "Which service are you having problems with?" - telephone

And, finally, a page loads up which says:

"We are sorry you are experiencing technical problems. Please call us on our customer support helpline on 0845 xxxxxxxxx"

My first reaction was

My second reaction was "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!!!"

Kafka is/was cool - what was the short he wrote about the guy that turned into some sort of beetle, that was excellent :)

Metamorphosis. Although he doesn't turn into an insect ;)

This is my kind of thread title by the way...Maybe it's the Heeb in me but I LOVE Kafka.

I love his anthropomorphic short stories; Investigations of a Dog or The Burrow in particular.

The only downside to our little Czech friend is his propensity for paragraphs that span fourteen pages.
