Hi, what do you guys do? Just realised I have not backed mine up!

Is there an enclosure you can buy that takes a SATA drive with Firewire? Wouldnt mind getting one of these 2Tb HDD that ocuk have on offer.

I have a 250GB WD passport drive - Nice and small and USB powered (actually looks quite sexy under my mac)
I also have a 2TB external drive in a powered USB caddy for stuff that doesn't need backing up yet

I use time machine and a freecom sata dock to plug in a 1TB Samsung F3. Works great.

I have been looking for firewire 800 enclosures but there don't seem to be many good quality affordable ones knocking around.

Sorry, slightly off topic, how do you tell time machine to delete old backups? My 500gb is reporting low space, I'm happy for it to delete older backups, would rather it didn't backup so regularly if I'm honest

You should confine the number of folders it backs up to reduce the total size of each backup.

CMD + Del should remove old backups if you manually go into your time machine drive. Otherwise I thought it had a feature to remove older backups when it neared low space?

It'll start deleting old backups when it's full - a window will come up saying you can either add another drive, or let it start overwriting old backups as it goes.
