imac G4 screen connection

Hi all,

i am getting my hands on one of these imacs

the base is cracked/broken

I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to take the screen and stand off and connect it to a pc. Now i know it wont be as simple as just taking the screen off and plugging it in ... but does anyone know if its possible

Anything is possible. You just have to way up if it is worth doing over buying a new tft. Although the case is cracked does it still work?

yeah the mac still works , but i am getting it free through work and dont use mac's at home. I just like the swivel (sp?) mechanism on the mac monitor and like the screen itself.

just wondered if anyone had tried it before/knew how hard it was

There is a video out port that's mini VGA. I suppose you could connect to that and set it to mirror, thus showing you everything that would be displayed on the normal screen.
