Not sure if I am getting problems with the USB ports on my iMac.
I bought a Hauppage USB TV Tuner and have been having excessive problems with the signal degrading.
I tried an aerial booster which didn't help. As I was short on USB ports I added a powered usb hub and happened to plug the tuner back in to this. The signal now seems fine with no degradation at all.
I can only assume it was the power to the ports? I had already tried it in different direct ports.
Is this a 'problem' with the ports or are they lower powered?
