My Jan comp entry, SOOC:-

Cropped, colour adjustments, then lots of brush adjustments for exposure/saturation, sharpness corrections, finally a few spot removals.

By brush adjustments Andy, what exactly do you mean and how did they alter the image?

And are they done in LR3 or PS?

Sorry for being a noob :)

All done in LR3, the adjustment brush allows you to paint over an area you wish to edit, once selected you can then adjust various properties of that area (colour tone, exposure, sharpness, etc). So in the below brush adjustments have been used to bring out colours and details in the pieces of fruit and massively increase the sharpness of the water in the centre of the image to highlight the edges around the splashes.

:D

Truth be told I thought it was a great photo but horribly overexposed, so I started to play with it. Rather happy with the outcome!

My attempt, was going to delete the pic. C&C appreciated

settings in LR:
Crop
contrast +100
Clarity +36
Vibrance: +52
Tone curve: 'S'
Split tone: yellow/brown
Grad filter at the bottom at -4 exposure
EDIT: and vignette

I only really do B&W PP, pretty much everything else is as it comes maybe with a contrast or WB tweak here and there. I used to mess around a lot more, but those were the "formulative years" and would only really suit a "how not to" thread :D
