Just wondering what people have replaced Dropbox's depricated public sharing service with?

I could set up a server somewhere and nerd my way to a solution but is there anything quite so good around? Just for posting on forums etc?

Skitch used to do a great job, then Evernote bought it and proceeded to close down the project... Fantastic!

You can still share images etc within dropbox, Right click and copy link this generates a public link to that file.
That'll share a single image folder so people can view it, but i think OP is referring to sharing galleries so people can add/remove etc. That was possible when Dropbox had a public folder function, but they disabled that a while back.

then google photos would be the solution for me, shared albums.

I'm highly annoyed about this with Dropbox. All the hundreds, if not thousands of image links I have posted will become broken. And broken image links are the worst thing ever.

I have looked into a few things. I have OneDrive with 10TB of storage but that doesn't support image linking for forums, nor does Google Drive. I have installed OwnCloud on a Linux VM on my N54L, which appears to work well, but image linking is a lightly longer process than I'd like. Not found anything else just yet though.

Photobucket is old hat and slow and generally rubbish. Anyone still using it should be slapped on sight really.

If you have a decent browser, such as Firefox (!), then you can install the Rehost Image extension, which allows you to add IMGUR, so when you right click an image and host to it, it automagically copies the URL to the clipboard so you can post it.
