apologies for starting an argument.
The intention of the question was not meant to be related to rawshooter, as in should raw only be for rawshooter.
I did mean in general shoudl I use raw, over what the camera can do, perhaps i should not have mentioned that I had started DLing the application in the same post as the format question.

unfortunalty (for me) most of it goes over my head cos not got a clue what they are talking about.
I am beginning to think that taking good pictures is as much about editing them after taking than it is about the camera.
definatly starting to think about investing in photoshop (and a good tutorial)
