Images look different in JPEG

It took me awhile to learn that. I found that whenever I was copying/pasting images from the web, it looked totally different when I pulled it up in PS (skin tones were off, blocky reflections, etc). I'm glad it worked for you. :)
 
Not really. I save all my images at 100 quality (if using save for web) or mode 12 if using save as in PS. Image resolution is retained nicely and you'd only notice the difference if you were probably printing ultra large or saving very high res and peeping in.

As for Op's question, change the colour space to SRGB, you have it on some other one at present:

Work in SRGB, save to SRGB and you will get what you see.

It is a compressed format. You will lose detail. It might not be noticable on a screen as such, but data is stripped out - there are no ifs or buts about it.

Yes I understand what JPEG is and what it does, the point is it doesn't matter in this or most instances at all :)
