Alas, the car is not included. Maybe once all of the building work is done I can start saving again towards a decent car.
It's a bespoke timber-frame job to replace an absolute state of a shed that's currently falling down.
We hired an architectural designer to measure up and design it to our requirements. He also submitted the planning application for us.
Once we got planning approval, we sent the planning drawings to a number of timber-frame specialists for quotes. This render came from one of the timber-frame people after they'd tweaked the planning drawings to fit with their construction methods etc.
They're going to provide us with the full engineering designs and load points, which our groundworks guy will use (in conjunction with Building Control) to ensure the foundations are suitable for the ground conditions.
Once we've got approval from Building Control we can build the foundations while the timber frame people fabricate the frame. They will also clad the exterior in Cedar featheredge so it's all delivered on-site as a kit.
We could have got them to build it for us as well, but their build cost was quite high. We're doing more work than just the garage so it made sense for our builder to erect the kit and fit the roof himself.
Once it's erected up to the eaves, the roller garage door people will come and measure up for that door and our builder will source the personnel door to the side. Install those, stick the roof on and we're done.
The design includes a loft space — it's not going to provide a huge amount of storage space in the grand scheme of things as it's only a single garage, but if it allows us to chuck a few boxes up there it will help keep the clutter down in the house.
In terms of costs — the timber frame kit is £8.5k inc. VAT. That doesn't include the roof tiles, guttering, doors, foundations or the cost to build it (or the costs for ripping down the current shed), so it's probably going to end up around £20–£25k. However, we're getting the garden landscaped, the driveway re-done and some other work to the house, so the total project budget is £40k.

That’s all the space we have unfortunately. Ideally it would be longer but we’re a bit limited. It’s just about big enough for an official car parking space inside but we won’t be keeping a car in it anyway, so it’s not the end of the world.

This year I've maybe had somewhere between 15 and 25 pinch flats. One ride I had 3... Lots of people in the road thread aren't fans of tubeless either, advising against it...

And this is my issue. I suspect my weight (about 97kg) and the potholes/roads in the area are a bad combination. I need to keep the pressure nice and high all the time.
