Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

I'm always curious to know what footwear people wear when they insinuate trainer = chav.
I'm in my 50's now so I'm definitely not the demographic being aimed at with loud trainers. I wouldn't call them chav though because I know they can be expensive and, as shown here, people collect them. I expect my trainer budget is tiny in comparison. But nowadays I tend to look for much more subtle very plain trainers in white, tan/brown, blue or black. Usually just plain leather. I've lived in my Stan Smiths for a couple of years which are not particularly exciting to most people but they work well for me. More recently I've got some hand made leather trainers to try to up the quality as my white Stans Smiths are looking quite tired. Or another common thing I wear are suede chukka boots. I'm a bit of a chukka boot addict and have quite a few.

Stan Smith's are classics though! Those and Forrest Hill's are some of my favourite addidas trainers. Cause it's the winter my daily drivers at the moment are a pair of Addidas busenitz

As much as I love loud trainers I've still got a lot of love for the simple and clean ones

The CLOTs are not for me... but show us the rest?

Trainer obsessives assemble! I'm getting disproportionately excited about the Air Max 90 Bacons this week, they will be mine. Within reason I don't care about the cost.

Not judging , but are these to collect or do you wear them? I mean that's a lot of space they take up.

I know some are super valuable

I bought these most recently:

Sorry for stock photo, but they are too small so being returned for a size up.
I didn’t insinuate trainers were chavvy, I wear a pear of Nikes basically everyday at the moment. However I can’t see how they’d be appropriate for an occasion where you’d presumably dress up.

Well.. firstly, both. Although in times when I could leave the house I aspire to wear them all.

Secondly.. that thing on the right is the glass bannister thing up to this room which is the office which is a loft conversion. I can't honestly think of anything else you could put there. You can barely crawl down there so it's perfect as a display space.

I have loads of lego so yeah not judging! Was just interested if they were for display only!

Oh 100% I love the more subtle pairs a lot too. As I said the wall is about 1/3 of my collection. The more muted pairs dont make the display!

I do love the opinions and often derision showing off my collection brings out of people though. I dont overly like showing them off in real life and most of my mates have no idea im even interested in them. They havent seemed to notice yet im never in the same pair twice.

Its also a bit of a never ending quandry. The shelf life seems to be about 10-15 years before the soles crumble to dust. Quite a few pairs just seem to keep shooting up in value. On one hand if they are worn the soles are likely to last a lot longer, but also as soon as they have seen the pavement they loose a lot of value.

Pics when it's done please!

Also guys, can you go and start a trainers thread somewhere please? Enough with the trainers talk already. :)

It's going here..

I'm going to attempt to wall mount my millennium falcon in the top right (if there's space.) Saturn v. Needs to go back on desk.

Still need to put this up after shelf is placed.
