I'm guessing breeds with shortened faces suffer more in the heat. Our border collie just goes and sits by the outdoor tap to ask for her paddling pool in the summer. Must be hard for pugs, bulldogs etc.
Where abouts in Spain? My brother lives near Lleida and it regulary gets to 40C in the summer - why he doesn't live on the coast or in the mountains (both about 45mins drive away) I have no idea!
Yeah, he's been struggling a lot. Luckily it's been cooler this week. He'd be better if he wasn't such a ball bag and stayed in the shade! Be curious if he learns ready for when it gets proper hot.
