Is this one of those really cheap Chinese pens? If so, sort of nice to write with but I find the nib to be very scratchy

Aye, £9.99 and really nice to write with, just a very broad nib. No scratchyness at all, absolutely smooth and silent as it writes.

Yes she does but she does have another self heating type so she moves between them both.
