Before I do...is it a better router? (yes, I have not read into it).

p.s. it's been a year since I signed up to BT infinity so the contract is up !

It's supposed to be better than the previous ones and has 4 gigabit Ethernet ports instead of one. It also has the VDSL modem on board so you don't need two boxes.

It certainly won't have all the options that I use with my current one so I may have to use that as well. We shall find out tomorrow.

VDSL modem ?

You mean the white box they installed on the wall?

What would happen if I have the HH5?

I was just going to swap it over from the HH4.

The VDSL modem is the white box, HH5:

An integrated VDSL modem meaning that most Infinity customers will no longer need two separate boxes

I'm not getting the white box, just a faceplate change and the HH5 installed.

You could swap it over or just use HH5 instead of the white box. Don't blame me if it all goes pear-shaped as I'm no networking expert. :p:D

I suggest that we don't bore everyone to death and continue this in the BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion thread. :)

They were (or still are) doing the HH4 for £35notes to existing customers!, d'ya recon they'll do summut similar for the HH5?? I can get back the extra plug socket in my lounge then!! :)

I would have thought that they will do something similar with the HH5 at some point in time.
