Didn't get on with mine, I liked the idea of it but personally I didn't get on with it so put my boss back in.
Lovely case Raymond, not my thing but you can tell it's brilliantly made. What pedals have you got now then?
I had them all on the floor before but was annoying me. So I started looking putting them on something.
Pedaltrain was the obvious choice, but I am not a fan of how they look, they are functional but all the cables still showing, no case unless you buy one and that really drives the cost up, and it doesn't have a power switch, or effects loop (unless I get one separate). Wanted one where I could put it away easily, looked at some flatboards with a case but those are difficult to hide cables. I want one where the cables are hidden, PSU not taking up space at the top, easy to get it out, put it down, plug it in and go. My amp has an effects loop so I was able to even spec an FX bypass box built in. I can take it to my friend's and go straight into the front of his amp without changing any cables. It's all very neat. This costs more than a pedaltrain with a case but you can at least tell where the money has gone, solid walnut, tweed, leather corners, built in electronics and pre-wired FX bypass box built in.
The signal chain goes – Guitar -> DPC5 (5 loops) -> JHS Colour Box -> [AMP] Volume Pedal -> Warped Vinyl -> Timeline -> BigSky - > buffer -> Icarus -> Wally Looper -> [Cab]
In the DPC5 loop I have
1 – Barber Tone Press Compressor
2 – JHS Double Barrel
3 – Timmy
4 – Klone
5 – Scarab Deluxe and Cloven Hoof
There is also the Tuner out on the DPC5 which is not in the signal chain, that's always on.
The idea is all the Compressors/Overdrives/Fuzz are out of the loop to keep the signal short. Colour Box as a preamp, it can act like a Neve Console so the signal goes straight from guitar – Colour Box to amp. Volume pedal just before the modulations in the FX loop of the amp itself. Icarus for clean boost at the end with looper if needed.
But with the DPC5, I can kick in any of the OD at any time.
I picked them all up over the course of the past 6 months, sourcing some from Thomanns, the USA (4th July sale was particularly good) and secondhand on forums. This has been like building a PC for me, the parts, the PSU, the cables, the case and all. It's been fun!
