The only one that didn't was the official Samsung car cradle but you couldn't use your phone with a case on that (Note 2 days) and it had a fixed position neck so was a bit pointless anyway. In the end I opted for that position in the pic, it is as if it was made for it and is a natural position as I can tap buttons or move the map around when navigating with one finger whilst my hand is on the gear stick.

Have you looked at Brodit holders? They are more expensive to buy than most holders but they integrate more with every car.

Here is mine on my A3.

I can't use a case with mine but its never bothered me having one at this moement.
 
Not really a convenient place to put a Brodit on the dash without it getting in the way or /something/ be it a button or vent or just a not so neat location. Works far better resting in the centre console as per pic :)

If I change car to something else though options will be reconsidered.

Our A3 has the same thing, really useful! but alas we don't have any holders/cradles yet!

My Mazda has a subtle blue backlight on the dials. Looks nice and isn't too distracting, but does mean you occasionally think you've got your full beams on when you don't (and vice versa) because of the blue glow.

Speaking of the car, got this yesterday which will, once I've got the courage to install it, mean I can listen to my iPod/phone in the car. Good riddance, shiny plastic coasters.
