I really enjoyed the Empire trilogy as well, really good!
Re-reading the First Law books by Joe Abercrombie, the characters are awesome, especially Sand Dan Glokta who plays a crippled torturer after being tortured himself.

I love the empire books. They are pretty different to his solo books. Good time to start reading his books as it hasn't been long since he wrote the last one.
Have you read any Ian Irvine, Katherine Kerr, Robin Hobb, or Terry Goodkind? They're all awesome!
To go on the legacy coarse is £5 per hour and to rent the gear I think it's an extra £10 but I'm not sure. You need to pass an assessment first or take a 6 week coarse which is £60 including the gear. There are 3 levels so if you are a beginner you will need to do all 3.
