It was my in tension, but this monitor was always in the back of my head. I was trying so hard to justify it, but I would have been kicking myself for not getting it! Anyway, this does just fine for my needs

Doesn't quite work that way... morons think you'll be slow and don't think that your stopping distance is longer than theirs, so you get people doing silly things to get in front of you... a lot

It's not quiiiiiite as bad as being on a motorbike though

AMD graphics card

The sensible choice?

The ATI was my first and last. Crap drivers resulting in crap stability and crap noise levels. Basically a whole bunch of crap. Less crap now from what I can tell but still certain level of crap. nVidia is the sensible choice .

Yup but since then I read the AMD threads on the 290(X) and realised the modern AMD driver is not really any different to nVidia's any more and given the price of the 290X vs the performance, I just had to give it a go

Yeah when I had my 6950 I swore I was going back to Nvidia.

Then I got the 7970 Lightning and by that time the drivers were great and all was well.
