I have so many questions about that picture that I don't know where to start
When I saw the pic I thought someone's bought 'That guy from the Gadget Show's more irritating little brother.

I have been riding a lowly 2012 XJ6, the naked one with an R6 engine and the wind blast is annoying me.
S1000R looks so nice though, just needs a decat to get rid of that massive box of metal underneath!
Does it have the electronic suspension or not?

I have been riding a lowly 2012 XJ6, the naked one with an R6 engine and the wind blast is annoying me.
S1000R looks so nice though, just needs a decat to get rid of that massive box of metal underneath!

I'm already used to riding nakeds so wind blast does not bother me. The rake is such that the riding position is still a little forward (not surprising considering it's RR heritage) and not bolt upright which helps a little with wind. The fly screen does a good job also. It also means when you are on the suitable roads in Europe/wherever you are you can cruise at decent speeds with stupid speed being plain uncomfortable - think of it as dissuasion!
Don't see the attraction of nailing it everywhere as if you were on a super sport. *shrug*I have the DDC electronic/active (w/e you want to call it) suspension on it. For the relatively small price increase it's worth having.
The cat is a bit of a bulky beast I agree. It sounds insane at stock however. As much as I would love a full system it is nothing short of obnoxious. The over-run popping is loud enough as it is, the full system is hooligan. Plus... you are looking at over £1,400 for a full system, before fitting

I'm seriously considering one. It needs to be short throw though, ideally 80"+ at less than 2m. Budget of around £600.

Really good point on the wind being a dissuasion to ride too fast! On the XJ6 I am pretty much bolt upright and being 6'3 like a sail in the wind, if I tuck in on it I just look like a tit, well at least that is how I feel!
I would love to try out the DDC suspension though, if it is anything as good as magride in my car it must be like riding a magic carpet
