I know those knives are illegal to buy, sell or carry in public, but are they illegal to simply own?

Reading around, if they're over 100 years old they're cool as they're classified as antiques. But they're banned. It's illegal to sell them. It's illegal to give/gift them. Illegal to import them. Yada yada yada.

Sort of, unless you've owned one for ~40 years then they are totally banned in public, banned to buy/sell, banned to import.
Other than ones older than 100years as they are classified as antiques.

Or at least that's what wiki says.

Not too sure, all the shops that sell them have signs saying 'Ok to transport in suitcase'.

My case was scanned twice by Spanish customs and UK customs and they weren't removed from my case.

Probably as it wouldn't show as a knife just a solid lump of metal. You could have faced prosecution if it was found, as it is an offence to import one, or have one in public. Meaning you can't get it to your house.

Swapped the coloured metal plates over as Gold doesn't quite go with my system theme.
