I remember the world without the internet, it was cold and dark and sucked, then in 95 i found free porn and warez and more porn......damn you're all too young to remember the horror of what it was like before, dont take me back there....oh god!
+1 I feel old at 29 growing up without these things. I remember playing caeser 3 at home on the pc and learning there was a 13mb map editor on the net. So I downloaded it at school cause we didnt have internet. And I had to take it home on 13 floppy disks. It took me 3 days cause one or two of them always corrupted by the time I got them home
I'm 37 so I remember life very well before the internet. I read a lot more books back then - now I never seem to finish one......my attention span has reduced to the point where I HAVE to be on-line getting rapid-fire information/entertainment instead
I also remember how challenging it was to find fapping material before the net - I remember finding my older brother's Mayfair collection and it was like striking gold. Kids have it easy now in that regard!
This thread might have just turned my life back a bit. I used to do a lot of things before the internet that... I don't seem to do any more. So it looks like I'm going to be making some effort to bring those things back. High voltage electronics, home made hi-fi, engine tuning, general making things, film photography. Quite looking forward to it
Doesn't happen nearly as much as you appear to think. I'd say that the good vastly outweighs the bad. Besides, it's not like fraudsters and paedophiles only arrived with the advent of the Intermaweb.
