Anyone recommend some drive imaging software. Specifically I am looking for something that will take an image of XP pro, crush it down, and stick it onto a bootable dvd than can be used as a restore disk.
Acronis True Image 10, this will take a Backup image, compress it, so you can store the actual image elsewhere (another part/HDD, or burn to DVD), ATI 10 also lets you make a bootable CD, to run in DOS, so you can run the actual program to restore Backup image on another partition/HDD.
Cheers for the info. I used Acronis. I created a backup of a fresh nvidia raid striped array, wrote it onto a dvd. Created a boot cd with acronis. Then recovered the backup onto an nvidia array, but this time a mirror. Used the resize partition options. Damn impressive.
If I was to create an image I would use Bart PE personally but I would also recommend Acronis True Image. Even if you want to use it long term i think you can get it from like 30quid...not bad software!
