I don't know much about iMail or Time Machine (I own a Mac but use neither), however a friend has recently taken a TM backup, and upgraded his 2010 MBP to a 256GB SSD and then restored from the TM backup. Everything is working fine except he has a number of folders within iMail that are still present but the emails are missing from them.
Personally I'm at a loss as to understand how the HDD upgrade has done this.
The only thing I can think is that the emails in these folders were from a Yahoo email account that he no longer has setup (it was removed from iMail months ago due to it constantly sending spam) and he has replaced it with a Gmail account.
Before the HDD upgrade the folders were full of emails, now they are empty.
Any ideas?
