I've got it activated on my iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1. However when I text my wife who has a 3GS, she receives the text from me and it shows up as coming into her phone from my email address, not from the name she has me under in her contacts. I'm pretty sure this didn't happen before with it previous to me updating from 5.0.1 to 6.1 the other day when evasi0n came out. Is there a way around this so that any texts I send end up landing in folks phones from my contact details they have within their phone and not my email address?. Or is that not possible with iMessage given how it actually works?.

Go to settings>messages>send&receive, and see if send from number or send from email is ticked

Both my phone number and my email address (AppleID) are in there and both are ticked. However the number appears 'greyed out'. It has a bit right at the bottom which says 'Start new conversations from:' and then underneath it has my number ticked and the email address unticked.

It's the same for me too, but my messages to people show my number "/ I'm jail broken too, maybe update the 3GS to 6.1?
