Imperfect timing!

It's so much easier, turn up at the station and get on the train. You turn up like 5 minutes before the train, you get on and leave. You don't have that with a flight

That's not how it works for international train journeys. You still need to queue and go through passport control.

Yeah fair enough, I've never actually taken it, it's a lot more expensive than flying and it's in London.

I have used the train in Europe to pass through countries, and that is very good.

And just think about what routine high speed trains will be like.

Once you have trains traveling as fast as aircraft, you are going to have to have aircraft style security and checks.

Have only used the Eurostar for business travel to Paris and it was way, way more convenient for a North Londoner than even using City airport. Mostly because you avoid the Twin Hells that are CDG/ORY and getting from them into central Paris.

I'm a legit Dutch person who just happened to have been born in South Africa and adopted the most awesome aspects of both nations.
Interesting..... Must have led to some fun times, eh?

There are no bad South africans.
Not what my Afrikaaner friends say about the rooinek Engelsmann in their bungalow during their national service... and if I repeat here what the Saffers say in response about their rockspider troepies, I'll get myself another suspension!! :D :D :D
