I'm currently looking for a new car, a JDM Integra DC2 in particular, and am struggling to find one I want. I fully intend to be really picky so I end up with exactly what I want - preferably a 98 spec car and i will entertain a few modifications as long as they aren't shoddy.

Does anyone know of any import specialists who have a good reputation? Also, how harsh is the SVA test required for an imported vehicle that is under 10 years old?

i *think* since the DC2 is over 10 years old they don't have to pass sva... blah.

but one thing with the DC2 is do not get bigger wheels - screws up the handling royally

The 98 spec cars were made after April 1997 (I think that's the date) so require a full SVA instead of just an MOT :(

I'm not into screwing with something that's already sorted, just releasing a few more ponies is always welcome :)

Getting bigger wheels does that with just about everything...

*n

it *really* screws with the ITR thou, so much infact that you are advised to look for cars without aftermarket alloys - it generally doesn't matter on most other cars.

IIRC the ITR alloys were specially crafted for the car (like pretty much everything else) i've got a 20 minute episode of BMI all about the ITR (96 and 98 versions) and its fantastic viewing... all about how its got perfect balance and weight distro etc

Yup, they're Enkei wheels IIRC.

neil-ste, get over to:

http://www.itr-dc2.com/forum/

Lots of info and a friendly bunch, plenty of good cars for sale on there.

BTW, UKDM>JDM and you know it :p

I really don't like the look of UK cars, the front end is just spoilt IMO. I'm already a member of ITR-DC2 but there still hasn't been anything of interest come up for sale on there. Very helpful bunch, though.

djbenjo, they have a stunning 98 spec car on that site, it's just too much money :(

BARGAIN

Im assuming you are aware of Vine Place in Durham, a little pricey though.

Ive got the number of a lad I spoke to when I was looking for FTOs last year, who buys from auctions and was very helpful. Was going to place an order with him until I found the car that I eventually bought a couple of days later. If you want his number, email me at my username at gmail.
