We had some important documents delivered to us BUT we don't know where they are!

They were apparently confirmed delivered on the 31st March and they were signed for... but not by us.

Look at this:

What the hell does that even say? It looks like someone lazily wrote "signed" as in "sind"... no idea what that is. It's not another language, as far as I can see.

Royal Mail say "it was delivered" so they're not being helpful. What do we do, go around every flat in the block?

Go on knock on doors? Put a note up on the front door. Jees, this ain’t hard.

Putting a note on all the blocks' front doors is a good idea. Thanks, I hadn't actually thought of that. It's hard to get inside them since there are multiple buildings in this development with different locks. But we can put notices on them. Also we have a block FB group and I've posted in that.

If it was delivered on the 31st why hasn't a neighbour brought it round yet? Surely they would have seen a different flat number on it.
You neighbours are probably ***** :p

It's one of those developments where people keep themselves to themselves mainly. People hardly say hi to you in the corridor or they do so awkwardly. It's not helpful. I mean, it was delivered six days ago and they haven't passed it on, which means it's either sitting in someone's mailbox or the recipients have just been too lazy to bring it over.

Give your neighbours a special delivery of your own...

Sad that it took so long for this meme to come along :D

The management company have just emailed everyone in the development. I imagine no-one will ring our bell, but I would hope that it will turn up in our mailbox in the next 24 hours.

We are going to the police about this. Somebody has those documents [original marriage cert + driving license] and is not returning them. It's been a week now since they were "confirmed" delivered. This is now an identity theft concern.

We have posted notes on all the the block doors, put flyers through peoples' letterboxes [with permission from the management company] posted in the block FB group, the management company has even sent an email to all residents. Nothing.

This is what the GPS coords from the delivery gave:

Any reason why it was scanned outside the block? For reference there is quite a walk from the road there to the block doors. Did they scan it while standing outside on the grass or on the way back to the van?

EDIT: our door would be in the bottom right of this pic. So quite a way from that red marker.

Try local addresses with same number as you, but different flat block and/or road.

Thank you, doing this too :)

'theft', lol. this is not theft, the police will not be interested. The paranoia is huge in this forum. something goes missing in the post or by courier and people assume it has been stolen. with the volume these companies handle every day, things go mossing by mistake, it happens. the chances of it being actively stolen are about the same as me getting stranded on a desert island woth nothing but the entire top 0.5% of onlyfans to keep me company.

I just called the police and they agreed that it's theft and have opened a case.

Theft? Could the postman have not just delivered it to the wrong address?

It was a week ago that it was delivered. Those documents [drivers license + marriage cert] could very easily be used for identity theft.

And yes it could be behind the bins :p but they thought it was enough of a concern for them to open a case on it.

Very insightful response lol

Well hopefully you get this sorted. I know how stressful these things can be, especially when next to no one is able to offer any actual help.

Thank you very much. It's somewhere [hopefully not under a bush]. And now that the police have opened a case they will communicate with Royal Mail about it. RM will have to try to provide some answers about exactly where it went. What is the point of "tracked" delivery if the item gets lost?
