Important programs for PC gamers

am i the only one who uses MSI afterburner to monitor their FPS, take screenshots and record gameplay?
I guess a lot of people do, from reading around.
I only use fraps because I happened to buy a license over 18 months ago, and then only really for screenshots and movies. Don't ever use the benchmarking, or bother with the fps counter much.

I'm surprised nobody has said game save manager,

For me an invaluable tool for backing up all my saves from 1 easy to use program.

Agreed. I wish Valve would put something like this in Steam for all games not just games with Steam Cloud. It is all very well being able to redownload and install all your games whenever you want but if you cant save your saves then its not that helpful.

-MSI Afterburner: Overclocking and monitoring
-Mumble: Voice comms
-MIRC: Text chat
-Doodle (not strictly an app, as it's a website): Coordinating calendars with clanmates

should mention msi afterburner can cause bfbc2 to crash...if thats a game your gonna play you would be best to turn it off before you start.

Luv steam has gotten progressively better and less resource heavy, not a fan of origin...but its still young so we shall see! and need it for bf3!!!!!!!!

The only application I really use is Steam. I have Skype too, but that's normally for just chit chat with friends.

Tempted to get Fraps and see about making some (bad) video's :)

Theyre was once this time when I saw some chavs over their causing mischief. There all evil I tell you, evil chavs!

I don't think any programs are essential, aside from the afiorementioned GameSave Manager.

If you have an ati/amd graphic card, RadeonPro is handy, though not essential. It allows you to save video game setting profiles for games (functionality that should be in the basic drivers), along with settings you can't set in the drivers.
