I was on xbox360achievements.org today and read that Bioshock is coming out for Japan in the next few days and that it counts as a separate game and you can earn another 1000 points with it.
I was just wondering what it looks like on your games list? Will all the achievements be in Japanese? What about the actual game itself when I'm playing through it again?
Do many of you guys rent/import games that you have already played UK/US versions of to play them again or just to get extra gamerpoints? I'm not really after the gamerscore, I just enjoyed playing through the game collecting the achievements and would love to do it all over again, and it would look pretty cool in the games list :p

Does the game appear exactly the same as the UK version would in the games list when someone else is viewing my games?

Ive read about people buying literally 4 different versions of Bioshock to get the gamerscore but as I say I'm not really after that...

Im confused, why don't you just play the game again?

As for how it appears, I think it just appears as a new entry in the list. Someone would have to be pretty sad to buy and play a foreign version of a game just to get a slightly higher number.

I could have sworn I said I didnt care about gamerscore but whatever... And I also gave my reason for wanting to import, because I like earning and going for achievements

Yeah I know you said you didn't care about gamerscore, thats what got me confused :p Surely once you've got the achievement then its no longer an 'achievement' if you get it again. A far cheaper option would be just to set up a separate account and play the game again if you really want to get all the achievements again.

I really dont get this whole achievement thing.. I guess some people love aiming for them but I just dont get it myself.

For instance when playing Pro Evo there are 1000 points to achieve... i've probably got about 50 in total and I couldn't give a monkeys really. I load game, select Xbox live and just play people online at football - thats it and I get enjoyment out of that. Having to win the brazilian league or something like that gives me no pleasure at all. In fact I only have a sub 500 gamer score but I really dont care, I play a game as and when I feel like it and thats it. If an achievement unlocks it annoys me to be honest cos I get a blimmin pop up at the bottom of the screen !

Oh well im not flaming, each to there own and all that - just dont understand thats all. To buy a game that youve already achieved all the achievements for and are wanting to do it again ? Well you must be bored - get yourself a different game !! lol

I think that many of them have different region xbox 360s. As im not sure that all the games they play to get duplicate achievements are region free

So you really are after the achievements then as there's no reason you'd want to play the Japanese version just to play through the game again. Why not just pick up a second hand English copy?

It would show up on your list something like Bioshock (Japan) or soemthing like that.

Personally I'd never bother, playing one version of a game for achievements is enough, playing multiple different versions is rather sad.

I was kinda of the same opinion but didn't want to put it like that :p

I am not fussed about my score but I do enjoy getting achievements. I like the challenege some of them offer. Often they ensure I get the most out of a game as well.

However, I did rent Avatar once :p

I do get some satisfaction from unlocking achievements, but I don't actually go out of my way to get them, if I unlock them during playing through the game then it's a bonus.

And I couldn't give a flying **** about my gamerscore.

Ugh... Forget it. People dont understand what Im getting at and I cba to explain - especially with all the flamers/topic changers

As for your original question, it would appear exactly as it is on x360a.org, but it would appear as another Bioshock on your games list, so yes, it's possible to get another 1100 points from it if you wanted to.

It's happened with Pro Evolution Soccer where I believe there are 3 different versions for Pro Evolution Soccer 6.

If you want to do it again and get another 1000 points from it, go for it. Don't listen to people who don't understand what you want or why you like it.

Yup Nokkon has it right. I have Trusty Bell and Eternal Sonata on my profile separately when switching from Japanese console to PAL. Same goes for [eM] - eNCHANT arM - aka Enchanted Arms. Playing another region game just for e-penis points is going a bit far.. but then again people already play crap like King Kong and Ninja Turtles for it..

Thanks mate.

And yeah for the posts below I meant Asian sorry :) The way I see it is, people play allsorts of crap games simply for their gamerscore :p Which is simply not what Im interested in, I like having a decent list of games
