Importing a Mustang

Well that one is brand new, so actually you like the fact your car has, since new, depreciated by £14k ;)

How do you work that one out.

They are selling a 2006 LHD Saleen Mustang with no extras for 40k. Fair enough its a 2006 with 0 miles or delivery miles.

Mine is a 2005 LHD Saleen Mustang with HID and tyre upgrade, now with 3500 miles on the clock.

I've just looked on the Autotrader and the cheapest Saleen I could find was 32k with another one at 39k, both were 05's.

Considering I paid 26k for mine:D I feel if I were to sell it I'd make quite a bit of money. :) The reason I got mine so cheap was not due to depreciation but down to me been ready to buy when a guy needed a very quick sale due to taking delivery of a new Saleen F150 pickup. So he basically wrote all his import cost off (VAT, Duty and Shipping, approx 8.5k) and took a big hit and lost a lot money. But the guy was loaded so he could no doubt cope with losing so much money.

So there you go, one is a brand new car the other is a 1 year old (ok 9 months) used car. Your extras are cool but Xenons and nice tyres are not going to make a huge difference to residuals.

So, £40k - £26k in 9 months is £14k depreciation.

Yep I understand what your saying. But as a challenge you find me a Saleen Mustang in the UK for sub 30k, let alone 26k and I think you will agree with my original point I got a good deal and could make a fair bit of money. Hence for me its appreciated. :) ;)

I doubt I could even find another in the UK at any price, it being such a rare car :)

Good answer! :D
There are about 2-3 Saleens for sale but at silly money. :)
In fact in general the STD Ford Mustang GT's tend to still fetch approx 23-28k on 2005 plate with upto 20,000 miles. Its all about shopping around as there are deals to be had, I just got exceptionally lucky. As when I bought my car it was new with only 600 miles on the clock, so got an exceptional deal. :)
