Importing from Hong Kong

Im looking at buying a 5800 from Hong Kong but worried about the import charges - has anyone done this, how much did you get charged (if at all).

I got a feeling you would have to pay VAT on it, anything over £40 will get charged for it. As far as i remember!! even if they state it is a gift. but i would check government website for import and export.
