Improving Wavemaster Airflow

My first post, so hello everyone :)

So i got a question, has anyone got any suggestions in how to improve airflow inside my Cooler Master Wavemaster? I like the look of the case and everything but the airflow is utterly crap. I've added a 80mm fan in the top of the case but that hasen;t really given much of temp drop. My systems specs:

E6300
7900GTO
Type-R 580W
Gigabyte DS3
Geil 6400 1Gb
Two wester digital 250GB hdd's
And I'm using the Scythe Mine cooler.

My idle temps in core temp is around 48C on each core, which i think is wuiet high. As soon as i take the side panel of my case the temps drop drastically. I get around 36C on each core once the panel is off. Im thinking about going to water cooling but theres not that much space in the wavemaster. If anyone has any suggestions what radiator i could fit in there without doing any major cutting then please suggest away :D I got the case fans and CPU fan running at full speed and my comp sounds like its gonna take off.

My cables are all out of the way and i have the two stock wavemaster 80mm intake fans at the front and two 80mm out take fans (one on top of the case and the other at the back).


The fan at the top was not installed when the pic was taken.
 
Well, i'm in the same boat as you mate. I love the way the case looks (still think its one of the best looking cases on the market) but my temps are way too high.

I get the same results as you, take the sid eof the case off and the temps drop by like 10deg.

I have replaced all four fans with some YS-TECH FD128025HB 80mm's

This dropped temps all round by about 6 deg. They have twice the airflow over the standard ones at 47.5CFM or something. Only trouble i have with them is they are about 5 times as loud as the almost silent stock Coolermaster ones.
In my opinion, not worth the swap.

At the end of the day the case imo has just terrible airflow. No two ways around it. There is hardly any air being pulled in through the front holes even with the more powerful fans.

Right now i'm sat around 37/36 idle and 52/50 Load
Which is the best its ever been. And of course taking the side of the case off, i can get temps down to another - 6 off those.

I still need to reseat my cooler to see if theres any issues there, as i build another machine identicle to this one only it was using a Lian Li PC7 case and the temps were only a few degrees lower then mine. It did hold the load temp about 5 deg colder though.

One main thing i noticed between the two cases, is the Wavemaster seems to get real hotspots around the PSU, where the rest of the case is very cold.
There is not one hotspot on the PC7.
Leads me to believe theres just bad airflow round the Wavey.

Anyways man, its an amazing case to look at, looks fab on the desk, but if the temps bother you that much, just ebay it and move on.

Which cooler is that? It looks huge.
 
Would have gone for the Ninja ut it wouldn't fit in the case. The Mine already touches the side panel when it's on so theres no chance of getting a cooler in there which uses a 120mm fan.

Think im gonna go for watercooling soon because i want my system to be quieter and the cooling to improve (plus it looks cool). Any suggestions on any kits? I was thinking of buying a custom kit but i would need to get a dual 80mm radiator which could be mounted in the front of the case. I can;t find any reviews on this size of radiator and am i doubt if it would cool all that well. I only want the CPU and Northbridge to be cooled by the water cooling. Also which CPU block shall i buy? I was looking at the koolance gold plated ones but their a bit expensive (£60).
