Improving wifi connection and speed

I'm currently with Virgin media with a speed of 600 meg running in modem mode. An ASUS RT-AC3200 router provides the majority of the Wi-Fi with devolo power line adapters around the house also. Most of the adapters have relatively great speeds except one.

The new installed devolo adapter is in a new part of a large extension and has woeful speed to the unit and the Wi-Fi is terrible (dead spot in the house with all the steel beams etc).
I'm looking to run a cable outside and back into the new extension area. Id like something that would give me much better Wi-Fi speeds and also the ability to plug in directly to a TV and also V6 box possibly other devices in the future.

Would a patch cable although very long suffice or would I be best running a cable then crimping/making up each end ?.

Thoughts appreciated.

To answer your next question, I would historically have suggested something from the Unifi range, however Ubiquiti are in the middle of shooting themselves in both feet at present, and the pricing on the Honor 3 or Huawei AX3 is such that it’s hard not to suggest them as budget WiFi6 AP’s (£35 delivered, but I can’t tell you where, so please don’t ask).

Yeah I was looking through the Ubiquiti thread here on the site and was looking to possibly buy one but with the current issues there having Ill look perhaps elsewhere, I did like the wall mountable idea though and could have hidden it behind the TV which has also been wall mounted.
