I was having a look in my PC and i must say those grey ide cables really get on my nerves and they take a lot of room, i wanted to no if you could change them for rounded cables which take up less room and i found these

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/IDE_Cables

I have these cables running from my motherboard to my dvd drives and my hard drive, just wanted to no if i could change the cables to the ones in the link above and if they were the right sort? hopeing it might help the air flow a bit and make it a bit more tidy

cheers

Liam

Yep those cables are the right ones. Should help with airflow and make the inside of your case look abit batter at the same time.

One last thing guys i should be getting my new case today the Antec Super LANBOY Aluminum Super Mini Tower Case - No PSU, what i wanted to no was in my case at the momment i dont have any extra fans just the main one on the board, this case has to fans built in one at the front and one at the back just wanted to no what kind of connecters these 2 fans will have 4 pin? i dont no and where the fans conecters fit onto the board.

any ideas

cheers

Liam

My 6600GT is at 56 Degrees at idle, but thats overclocked with coolbits. I don't know what it is when im playing.

How do you connect fans mate to the motherboard do you no? also what connecters they use as i might have to buy some more

cheers

Look in your mobo manual they are Clearly identified. Also it is actually written on the board by the plug i.e. System fan etc
Some fans come with three pin some four so wait till you get them and sort it from there. Personally i have a 4 pin that plugs directly into my PSU for my 120 rear and a 3pin doing the same for my front 80's x 2.
My Zalman is my CPU fan which goes into the mobo so i can take advantage of inbuilt monitoring.
Just sort out the best config for you depending on your case/demands/fan connectors/controllers etc etc etc
Check your mobo manual for location and then sort the config that gives you best monitoring and independant power to as many as poss.

Got a big problem with my new case, i done all the hard work put everything in, when i went to put the final connection in which i thought would be the power cable i had a big problem. The power cable on my old case was just 1 plug that i plugged in to the motherboard, the power plug for my new case was in different cables, it had three 2 pin cables and one 3 pin cable they were labled RESET SW, POWER SW, POWER LED, HDd LED, LED.

i DONT NO HOW THESE 5 CABLES GO ONTO THE POWER SWITCH CAN SOMEONE HELP PLEASE

Cheers people

Liam

Ok I take it you mean the cables coming from the power and reset switchs on the case that plug into the motherboard. Do you know the make/model of your motherboard or do you have the instrution book for it?? From past builds they usually connect at the bottom right of the board but you really need the instructions to see which on plugs in where. here's an example of where they plug into on the board:

You could always look at the old plug and try and follow the wires back to the switches on your old case to work out which pins work what. For example followthe wires from the power switch, see where they go in the old plug - say the bottom left 2 pins - and then thats where the Power SW plug on the new case will go onto the board.
Hope that made sence!?
