I'll ask my mate if I can test it out on his - probably a stupid question, but is RAM meant to run through MemTest without any errors at all?

Yes, you shouldnt see any errors at all.
 
Right, cheers for that.

Unfortunately I can't test it out on any mates computers as they're all running DDR.

I'll just have to return the RAM and pray that the Memory slots on the motherboard aren't the things causing the problem.
