In gear times for Golf GTi and R32 needed.

I'm in the Drex/Dolph camp. Not really into the lazy power thing, if I was I'd have an automatic I suppose.

Well... ok pointless maybe harsh but...

I'm pretty sure that either car would be faster accerating between two speeds by picking the best gear than it would be to leave it in gear. And it's safe to say that both cars will be more than capable at accerating from a given speed without changing down if you really wanted too. So for someone who "Does care about ragging it to the redline" does it matter that one is marginally faster than the other? They'll both be able to do it pretty well with one being a big n/a and the other a turbo'd 2.0.

Leaving it in a gear won't be the quickest way of getting between two speeds for any car I'd have thought (unless you're starting off at an optimum point in the rev range). So yes finding out if it's half decent at doing it I can understand, but when you're considering two hot hatches then there's much better stats to look at imo.
