Zoltan's dad's thread has got me thinking again. I almost posted this last year after his thread. It's a credit to him that he comes on here once a year. What I'm about to suggest shouldn't replace what he does at all but it simply suggested something to me.

I think this place is such a great community and one that I've turned to in times of need. I would support a thread, once a year, in memory of any forum member that has passed away that the mods have been told of.

For example:

* On the anniversary of the opening day of OcUK forums (just a suggestion)...
* A thread is opened with a list of pople who are known to sadly no longer be with us.
* The thread is open for that day only for people to pay their respects.
* It is then closed again 24 hours later.
* A new thread could be opened the following year or the old thread re-opened.

As I said, the intention is not to replace anyones own personal thread but a chance once a year to remember people. I've been on this forum for longer than I've been married and longer than I've had my own children. It has played a huge part in my life. I suspect that's the case with others too so it seems fitting.

It's just a thought. What do people think?
