Has anyone had one? Was it trouble free?

I have booked one tomorrow, An Xpress service plus:

Full and Comprehensive check
Premium Oils
The team do this in under 45 minutes
All makes & models expertise & manufacturer data in-house
Your satisfaction is guaranteed
Premium [Castrol] Oils and Premium Oil filter

XPRESS Service plus oil flush and fuel system treatment
Saves money on fuel bills and reduces emissions
Removes sludge and laquer buildup from the engine internals
Restores lost performance
Cleans the entire fuel and exhaust system, from tank to tail pipe
Completed in 45 minutes or less
£129 Inc VAT, parts and labour
A £26 supplement will apply for fully synthetic oil

I will need the fully synthetic oil so it will be £155.

When I called and booked it, I asked if they could also fit 2 new rear discs and pads (I have bought them already), As per an advisory on my last MOT.
He said yes but didnt mention a price on top of the service charge, What is a reasonable extra charge for them to fit these?

Cheers!

Please no ''Do it yourself'' as I havn't a clue :(

Can't help but think a regular oil change and a fuel filter change at a regular garage would be the same thing for half the cost.

Thanks for the advice.

I'll give it a miss tomorrow then and go elsewhere, National.co.uk says; OIL SUITABLE FOR YOUR VEHICLE :

Castrol Edge 5W40 Fully Synthetic : £47.70

Castrol Magnatec 10W40 Semi Synthetic: £34.20

Does this include them actually changing it or is it just the cost of the oil? Is the Fully Synthetic worth the premium?

I only opted for a service so they can 'stamp the book' it had regular services up until 2010 at 45k miles, its now at 74k and hasn't had one in nearly 3 years.
I bought it 3 months ago and the guy said it had had a 'oil service' when he MOT'd it on me buying it. But no stamp in the book?

Thanks guys!

Yeah I have 2 near me. I'll call them tomorrow and ask for a price on a service. If you supply your own Oil does it lower the price at all?

Also, How much is reasonable to be charged to fit 2 new rear discs and pads? I have them already.

I paid £40 on a 2002 5 series, which is a very standard rate.

They were pretty conscientious, and I'm picky. (I've used 2 branches from recommendation)

What car is it?

It's a 206 1.6 xsi, 05.

I have booked in with Mr Tyre for this afternoon, A full service is £150 and he said he'll fit both new rear discs and pads for an extra £30, I thought this was reasonable?

I agree with someone who said up top that IN N OUT doesnt look a very good stamp in your book.

Has anyone had a full service from Mrtyre?

Sooo, Mr tyre's did a Major service (£20 more than full service) This is its first service for 30k miles so I dont mind.

Car seems a bit quieter, Acceleration seems a tad more responsive too and its had a through check so im happy :)

Well not totally happy as it had a few advisorys, Can anyone tell me how time critical these things are:

Both num plates lights inoperative

Auxillery belt Perished (wtf?)

Exhaust leaking gases from middle + rear (they fixed this for £15)

Exhaust system heavily corroded ()

Under vehicle engine mount has excessive 'Play' and rubber mount is splitt

NSF track rcd end has 'Play'

Both front suspension coil springs corroding

Clutch pedal high (may need replacing?) I asked him and he said if its been like it since purchase then dont worry about it..

The ones in bold im most worried about, With xmas around the corner im a bit skint now so cant afford it all done, What should I priortise??

Thanks!
