I am in need of some of yourvaluable knowledge to help me

I have been gaming on consoles for a long time but have always wanted a good pc to game with the problem I have is that my last pc was a hand me down from parents and is wait for it a ........pentium 4 , now you see why I need an upgrade which seems it has been a long time coming.

I already have mouse keyboard and 2 monitors which off the top of my head are 24inch which I need to check on to see if they will be up to a bit of gaming.

I am wanting to play a variety of games from the old stuff like gangsters and command and conquer etc to the new latest stuff, I also play football manager.

I also would like to use the computer for photoshop and coreldraw, coreldraw I use for some printing which I do and Photoshop is nothing heavy at present I suppose more just getting used to it and learning to use it.

Now for the budget I do not really know so would like as many options as I can get For say £600 I think.

I would like to have a go at building this myself although I have never built a complete machine I have played around with removing stuff before and software etc.

I will need a OS as I have no discs etc for the old windows on the pc however I do have a laptop which has windows 7 on it I may be able to use but again no discs came when I purchased that.

Well I think that's enough ramblings and I thank you all very much in advance as I appreciate a lot of these posts come up which I have looked through for the last few months whilst dreaming of my own machine.

Thanks

I have £600 as budget but if a bit over would make masses of differences say bewteen mid and top range etc then I would look to extend but was wanting to see what could be had for the initial budget thanks

Thanks Lemin, I am really quite out of the know with the latest tech as you can prob tell by still having a P4, if you could go a little more on budget is there anything else you would change that would make a massive diffrence I.e say for i5 to i7 etc

Thanks again for your reply

Thanks guys I was going to clarify the prices as when I clicked they included vat.

Any other suggestions on builds are welcome and thanks for all those who have taken the time to respond it is really appreciated.

Thanks Olivier Renault, appreciate that, I'm doing some researching alongside this post for some things I'm not sure on thanks

I have had a little play but like I say I am new so bare with me.

Thanks again little freak, is there a reason why you said windows 7 rather than 10 as there isn't a lot of diffrence in price on those.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions or alterntive specs to give me some options and food for thought as looking to order this next week so just wanting to weigh up options.

Thanks

Defoerate thanks for the suggestion, I think I prefer. To stick with Intel at least an i5 but wondering if I should try and go for i7 in case the playing I am currently doing with photoshop leads to anything else.

Little freak yeah I always look around the other section as well as this to see if I can get ideas but a lot of the time it's difficult as people specs machines based on desired use and budget which you very rarely find someone else with exactly the same
But thanks I am always keeping an eye out too see as I want to get my best bang for buck but being not very knowledgable of all the tech it is difficult but hey ho I'll keep trying to learn

Thanks
